Cardiac Risk Panel
In addition to offering the latest cutting edge scanning techniques such as color Doppler echocardiography and 64-slice cardiac CT, Dr. Bereliani also uses the next generation of laboratory analysis to accurately assess and predict risk for future cardiovascular disease.
At the Beverly Hills Institute for Cardiology and Preventive Medicine, Dr. Bereliani uses these advanced diagnostic tests to discover risk factors that may not present themselves in a general physical examination.
These lab tests include
- KIF6 – Not just the name of a test, but also the genetic marker it identifies. People with the KIF6 gene are at greater risk for heart disease. Using a simple cheek swab, Dr. Bereliani will be able to see if you have this gene.
- Lp(a) – A simple blood test to identify your levels of lipoprotein (a).
- LPP – It turns out that it’s not just the number of lipoprotein particles that put you at risk for heart disease, but also how big they are. The LPP test measures the size of these particles.
- CRP – CRP, or C-reactive protein, is a protein in your blood that indicates how much inflammation is present in your body. By measuring this, Dr. Bereliani can identify inflammatory diseases like atherosclerosis before they become symptomatic.
