FAQs

I don’t have a heart problem. Why should I come to the Beverly Hills Institute of Cardiology and Preventive Medicine?

1) Just because you don’t have a heart problem now doesn’t mean you aren’t at risk for heart disease later. That’s why we believe in preventive cardiology – and preventive medicine in general. By identifying risks now, while you are still healthy, we can help you stay healthy.

2) The Beverly Hills Institute of Cardiology and Preventive Medicine is not limited to the practice of cardiology. We are also a full-service internal medicine practice equipped to handle most of your medical needs.

Everybody talks about preventive medicine. What makes you any different?

At the Beverly Hills Institute for Cardiology and Preventive Medicine, we not only utilize the most advanced diagnostic techniques to pinpoint potential problems in the future; we also use the latest therapies available based on results of major clinical studies. These studies have shown that certain natural supplements can be a powerful weapon against cardiovascular and other diseases. Therefore, we combine medical-grade nutritional supplements and IV vitamin therapy with conventional medications to yield the best possible patient outcomes.

Do you accept insurance?

Yes. Dr. Bereliani contracts with most major medical insurance carriers, including Anthem Blue Cross, Blue Shield, CIGNA, Aetna, and Medicare. Please contact us for a complete list.

What happens if I need surgery?

Although we do not perform surgery at our practice, we are connected with the finest Los Angeles surgeons. Dr. Bereliani maintains excellent relationships with top doctors at hospitals such as UCLA Medical Center and Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, among others. We will be happy to coordinate a referral if necessary.

I see a lot of talk about prevention and vitamins. Is the Beverly Hills Institute for Cardiology and Preventive medicine some kind of “alternative medicine” practice?

No. We are not an “alternative medicine” practice. Dr. Bereliani is an M.D. who is board certified in cardiology and internal medicine. He practices medicine in accordance with the latest nationally-accepted clinical practice guidelines. However, he integrates natural therapies that have been shown safe and effective in clinical trials into his practice of conventional medicine. Once upon a time, fish oil and Vitamin D supplements seemed pretty “alternative.” Now, they are widely prescribed by “mainstream” doctors.

I have a stressful, time-consuming job and I can’t always schedule a doctor’s appointment weeks in advance. I also can’t afford to wait for hours in the waiting room. What should I do?

Make an appointment with us and see how our friendly staff can help you. They will do their best to get you in to see Dr. Bereliani as soon as possible. If you prefer, we offer the option of walk-in appointments and house calls for patients who sign up for our new VIP packages.
